JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in supporting Penn State Behrend, a commonwealth campus located in Erie, PA. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State's future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.

The Administrative Assistant supports the administrative functions of the Development and Alumni Relations team at Penn State Behrend. This position reports to the Director of Development, working closely with the Development & Alumni Relations team as well as other college partners.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet visitors and provide information; review, respond to, and direct inquiries
  • Prepares documents and reports, and compiles records
  • Support special events with lead coordinator; reserve spaces, develop itineraries, prepare materials, attend events for on-site support
  • Create and maintain database including updating of records
  • Create, review, and distribute list requests for internal and external communications
  • Provide support for internal and external scheduling
  • Coordinate meeting logistics for building
  • Maintain inventory and order office supplies; arrange for equipment maintenance; process work orders for facilities needs
  • Resolve inquiries and ensure compliance with work unit and/or University policies and procedures
  • May perform non-routine and confidential administrative duties, and proxy responsibilities as authorized
  • May coordinate work assignments of department/unit support employees to ensure efficient workflow and processes
  • Oversee student workers
  • Articulate Penn State's needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications

Education and Experience: This position at the minimum requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will also have the following:

  • Understanding of Microsoft Applications

Background Check: Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position's duties and a valid driver's license are required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check, in addition to standard background checks, is also required.

This position is based at the Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Erie, PA is located along Lake Erie and is within 2 hours of major US cities.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
