Parflex-Manitowoc manufactures multiple types of braided plastic and rubber hose and polypropylene tubing used by the air and space community, military, utility companies, farm implements and U.S. defense contractors.
EXTRUSION OPERATOR - 2nd shift
The Thermoplastic Extruder Operator is responsible for machine operation and processing in successful achievement towards final product. This position is performed following all Parker Hannifin Standard Operating Procedures and Safety regulations and practices. The incumbent contributes to and participates in a strong team environment.
Pay: From $ 22.05 per hour, plus $2.00 per hour shift differential

Schedule and Location:
- This position is typically an 8-hour shift from 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday
- Flexible overtime schedule when voluntary or required
- Work Location: 1717 Dufek Dr, Manitowoc, WI
- Environmentally controlled 70 degree work environment 365 days a year!
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Sets up and operates thermo-plastic extruders and auxiliary equipment on the extruder line according to engineering specifications; makes immediate corrections where possible.
- Utilizes a variety of precision measuring instruments, performing all required testing and recording all pertinent information and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Determines appropriate changeover of tooling to ensure proper dimensions according to specifications. Monitors machines and process, reporting irregularities to Lead or Supervisor for problem identification and resolution.
- Is responsible for material handling for each assigned process.
- Documents, logs, compiles reports as required and/or requested.
- Participates in area and process team projects and activities.
- Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience
- Required HS diploma or GED;
- Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Mathematical aptitude and proficiency
- Keyboarding skills, with some knowledge of MS Office software
- Ability to operate forklift and manual and electric jack; Company will train
- Measurement skills, including use of precision measuring tools and equipment
- Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process and product improvement
- Effective English verbal communication and listening skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
Physical Demands
- Extended periods of sitting/standing at work station
- Squatting, reaching, stretching, twisting, climbing step ladder, eye/hand coordination
- Visual acuity, including color differentiation
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Frequent lifting/moving of objects up to 30 lbs, occasional lifting/moving or objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to accurately read colors.

- Manufacturing plant
- Exposure to moving parts on a line, as well as moving equipment throughout the plant
