Description General program information and/or position overview. We are excited to announce our opening for a Materials Expeditor Intern on our Global Supply Chain team in our Huntsville, AL location! This person will be responsible for supporting the material supply chain on multiple programs within the Leidos Defense sector. Must have the ability to work with Programs in tracking material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. Individual will be interfacing with Suppliers, Logistics, Receiving, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure program milestones are met. The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work, and learn on the job from a team of talented professionals. In this role you will learn how Leidos is ensuring on-time delivery of critical material from a large pool of suppliers ranging from small to large across the continental United States and the impact this has on low and full rate manufacturing operations. You will be exposed to the challenges of working with such a wide variety of suppliers and learn how to deal with schedule slips and supplier performance challenges. You will see how the complex relationship between internal (Requisitioners, Supply Chain, manufacturing, Production planning) and external stakeholders (Suppliers, customers) impacts the success of a program. Lastly, you'll have a chance to work collaboratively on a Global Supply Chain project with other Supply Chain interns and present your findings. Primary Responsibilities.
