Reliability Engineer






Primary Job Responsibility:



The primary responsibility of the Reliability Engineer is to enhance the reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment and systems. This involves conducting reliability analyses, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and identifying failure modes to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency. The Reliability Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute reliability improvement initiatives, ensuring that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.



Description of Job Duties:







  • Manage and direct mechanical integrity and asset integrity programs to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills and focused improvement methods.
  • Schedule and Support all inspection activities with in-house and outsourced resources in accordance with PSM regulations.
  • Review and participate in the PSV and PVSV regulatory inspections and recertification's.
  • Manage and coordinate condition monitoring activities and communicate to maintenance team for improved predictive maintenance actions.
  • Gather and examine basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlate the data for analysis using well-defined engineering techniques, principles and procedures to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput.
  • Lead FMEA, failure mode and causes effect analysis for failed equipment to prevent future failures.
  • Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to determine root cause failure analysis (RCFA) of equipment failures and performance evaluations of equipment and supporting systems.
  • Maintains awareness of related technology, programs and services to attain the highest quality of mechanical integrity program.
  • Write periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific reliability focused program.
  • Contribute to the plant safety program.
  • Involvement in the sites bi-annual PSM and VPP audit for Mechanical Integrity and asset integrity criteria.
  • Insures that HS&EP policies affecting the department are followed and maintained.
  • Provide technical support in project development, scope identification, QA/QC, installation, commissioning, start-up and work activities on equipment upgrades, repairs, and new installations.
  • Contibute in the accounting and management of the Annual Maintenance budget based off the Inspection and Reliability activities.
  • Complies with and facilitate all change management process in his department.
  • Conduct corrosion analysis modeling of the gathered data and calculate date of retirement of all PSM regulated equipment on site.








Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:




  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a PSM regulated industry.
  • Engineering degree, BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Prior experience of Non Destructive Evaluation practices and techniques
  • Ability to function in a self-directed work team.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Motivated self-starter, detail oriented and meticulous in record keeping.
  • Able to successfully maintain effective relationships with external vendors.
  • Knowledge of Condition Monitoring systems and techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production.
  • Experience of ASME B31.3 process piping specifications
  • Experiene of specific materials of construction of piping and vessel systems
  • Experience of ASME IV pressure vessels and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in a wide variety of software programs including CAD and project management scheduling tools.
  • Able to work in fast pace Turnaround environment.
