JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern is in search of a skilled and experienced Maintenance Foreman to lead a Building Maintenance Specialist (BMS) group for our Hospital Facilities team. This position works under minimal supervision with knowledge of specialty building systems found in a healthcare environment including but not limited to pneumatic tube system, nurse call system, patient room utilities, and building system components. This is a leadership position responsible for directing a team of building maintenance specialists, interfacing with end users, and conducting performance reviews for direct reports. The position will coordinate with Hospital Facilities leadership, vendors, and hospital departments in the normal course of maintenance in a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for various Joint Commission items and maintains records in an appropriate manner.
This position is a Monday through Friday job, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Required
- Education
High School Diploma vocational school or GED or
- Experience
5 years skilled or journeyman level experience in assigned area.
- Licenses and Certifications
(DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE Must possess valid State of Texas Driver's License.
Preferred

Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Job Duties
- Assists assigned crew members in resolving work related problems and questions.
- Confers with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, customers, and co-workers to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
- Examines objects, system, or facilities such as HVAC or utility systems and analyzes information, to determine installation, service, or repair needed.
- Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as employment, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Requisitions materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities.
- Trains workers in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and work aids, such as drawings, hand tools, and test equipment.
- Ensures quality and quantity of work performed by assigned crew is appropriate.
- Ensures client is satisfied with work.
- Performs work of crew members, when necessary.
- Assumes duties of supervisor in his/her absence according to supervisor's instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
