Responsibilities

Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing business operations oversight and management for the Research Institute's clinical trials programs. Using project management, financial, business, and leadership skills, this position will develop and manage the business teams and infrastructure required to reach the HonorHealth Research Institute's business and financial objectives. The Business Manager will direct operational activities in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, company policy and procedures [Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)]. The Business Manager will work in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, Directors, and others to lead the Institute's patient care, scientific, financial and community benefit success for the HonorHealth Research Institute.

The incumbent's responsibilities include understanding and analysis of the critical documents that are associated with clinical research, including: regulatory documents, financial reports, contracts and budgets to ensure research compliance and sound financial management of clinical research projects. Ensures financial information has been recorded accurately and critically evaluates the clinical trial enterprise as well as the study build reconciliation processes. Identifies issues, monitors performance and assists in problem resolution of patient, insurance, sponsor, and grant payors. The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the business objectives of each assigned department.

  • Drives value and leads projects in a collaborative manner through engagement of all stakeholders to ensure stakeholder engagement. Executes projects through industry leading program management standards, and by following appropriate policies and procedures. Designs, implements, and manages necessary workflows; drives agenda to meet internal and external objectives and timelines. Monitors and compares actual program performance with desired outcome, communicates deviations, and provides recommendations for corrective action, when needed. Mentors and educates team members and collaborators to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitors all support functions and processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, adherence to established procedures, timeliness' and accuracy of efforts, maintains a continuous quality improvement program to insure a productive work flow, develops and insures compliance with all policies and procedures utilizing available reporting mechanisms, and insures good working relations with other departments.
  • Manages staff in assigned departments. Plans, establishes, and revises work assignments. Interviews, selects, and hires staff. Initiates changes in classification, salary action, promotion, transfer, and termination. Settles employee problems and administers appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. Promotes teamwork within the department. Conducts weekly meetings and monthly departmental meetings with the staff. Maintains knowledge regarding current federal regulations.
