A DAY IN THE LIFE Responsible for developing designs, performing takeoffs, reviewing Owner provided Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation/specifications, reviewing proposals from 3rd party engineering firms, identifying engineering risks/opportunities, and substantiating engineering within proposals for the Estimators to bid. Coordinates directly with the Estimators, CAD Designers, and Supply Chain, utilizing the Value Driver Map to increase the quality of estimates and competitiveness of proposals. Accountable for the accuracy and detail of engineering within proposals and enhancing the clarification of assumptions/exceptions showing contract and specification compliance. Design responsibilities include, but are not limited to energy storage systems, underground collection systems, substations, SCADA/communication systems, transmission lines, and solar/PV arrays. Provides training and mentorship for project and technical personnel. Expected to prioritize and handle multiple designs/proposals concurrently with expeditious effort to meet Client RFP submittal dates while contributing to Blattner Energy internal standard and specification efforts. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related degree from an ABET accredited college. At minimum, the candidate will hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate with potential to become a licensed PE in 6 months preferred. Four or more years of progressive engineering, engineering supervisory, and/or construction related experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation) required. Candidate holding a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, with an emphasis on construction and electrical engineering.
