The Role
What's the job?

The Sample Shop Coordinator is accountable for ensuring that production and warehousing of all samples is performed to standards. Performance must align with Divisional & Departmental goals and objectives, safety standards, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Emphasis is on quality and customer service, with primary focus on the Sample Shop. Must have flexibility to work in plant production when needed.

Job Details:




Safety



  • Follows all safety rules and policies
  • Ensures activity is in accordance with organizational and departmental rules and policies
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels
  • Monthly STOP audits required


Quality



  • Follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) applicable to the position
  • Continuously monitors sample products to detect and resolve issues utilizing WCM tools
  • Regularly inspect all samples and replenish stock levels when needed


Production Processes and 6S



  • Accurately process customer's orders in efficient manner to exceed customer expectations. Including on-time delivery and picking/boxing orders for small package shipments
  • Manufacture samples from core material using panel saw, shrink tunnel, shrink wrapper. Complete assigned, required daily tasks
  • Assist Manager with managing and producing vendor samples and suspension system inventory
  • Maintains multiple sample product inventories accurately
  • Tracks and/or fills out metrics required to accurately close out production schedule
  • Aids in minimization/elimination of process wastes; use of recycling processes
  • Maintain satisfactory 6S as established by Operator or Office Duty Sheets in accordance with departmental practices and identifies gaps and areas for improvement
  • Exercise good judgment and involvement in shared goals and objectives. Must work well independently and as part of a team


Equipment



  • Performs Autonomous Maintenance (CILT- clean, inspect, lube, and tighten) on production equipment
  • Maintain office equipment through established daily, weekly & monthly best practices, sustaining a clean, organized work area
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Maintains daily log for Forklift usage


Leadership



  • Provided guidance on processes and equipment/tool operation
  • Trains operators on required process and equipment operation utilizing SOPs and completing the required documentation
  • Reports performance against standards and schedule during daily meetings
  • Ensure Production is operating to the planned Production Schedule
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels

What do you bring?



  • High School Diploma is preferred
  • Basic knowledge and use of MS Office Suite specifically Excel
  • Ability to communicate to internal and external customers both written and orally.
  • Forklift experience 1-3 years is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail when working is required
  • Advanced computer skill such as experience with ERP systems (SAP) and the ability to learn new systems
