Job Title: CAD Technician

Job Description

• CAD design technician use computers to create 2D design - surface modelling, or 3D design - solid modeling with strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of design software.
• Use surface of modeling to draw a flat representation of the product. In solid modeling, youll create a 3D display of a structure or component.
• Engineers could then use this to take a virtual tour or may look inside a piece of manufacturing machinery to see where improvements could be made.
• Use designs to help prepare cost estimates on projects, and produce assembly instructions and maintenance manuals for installation, service and repair technicians.
• Technicians work on different parts of a project under the guidance of an engineer. A knowledge of material properties, an understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods is a requirement.
• 5 years' experience- no degree required.
