Job Summary

The QA/QC Technician II is responsible for assigned project specific Quality Control programs and site specific plans from beginning to project completion. Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on materials, and installations, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards. Captures and analyzes quality data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards. Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards.

Essential Duties

    Performs Quality Assurance role on all assigned job sites/projects, including quality walks, conducting inspections, validating work per plans/specs, creating and maintaining punch list, coordinating field testing.
  • Schedules and observes field testing of complete systems as part of an overall quality control effort.
  • Reviews plans and specifications to ensure what is installed matches what is contained in the plan.
  • Liases between the office and field to minimize the occurrence of quality surprises.
  • Develops and maintains methods for collecting quality data on projects.
  • Makes installation recommendations to project leadership based on best practices.
  • Prepares for and helps coordinate for commissioning on-site systems.
  • Supports field process improvements on all assigned job sites/projects, to eliminate waste and reduce costs. Promotes Lean concepts and functions as an effective change agent throughout the organization.
  • Participates on assigned job sites/projects activities such as: MISOPS, planning, installation, materials management, coordination, and pre-fabrication opportunities.
  • Participates in Root Cause Analysis and determining appropriate cause and corrective action on all assigned job sites/projects, which includes collecting and analyzing quality data for trends.


Minimum Requirements

High School or GED is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Quality Assurance or related field is preferred.

2-4 years of QA/QC experience in the commercial mechanical/plumbing industry.

Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and quality control standards.
Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
