Associate Director, IT Project and Planning

The Opportunity:

UCF IT, Project Management Office is seeking an IT Project and Planning, Associate Director to direct the day-to-day operations of the IT Project Management Office (PMO). Partners with leadership to ensure policy and practices align with University strategy and goals. Drives team for continuous process improvement, transparency in communication, and professional growth.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the direct supervision of project/program managers to ensure that all projects and programs are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.

  • Develops policies and procedures for compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Implements a process for regular audits and reviews of PMO processes and project performance.

  • Partners with multi-departmental leadership and other stakeholders to locate opportunities and develop and prioritize projects according to relevant measurement criteria.

  • Ensures alignment of IT project/program management practices, processes, and policies to university strategy and goals.

  • Ensures transparency and accountability through accurate and timely reporting.

  • Fiscal oversight of a PMO area including annual budget requirements and tracking.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 with at least 2+ years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Preferred Qualifications:


  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Deep understanding of Project Management Information Systems and best practices.

  • Experience managing agile project teams.

  • Experience coaching students or interns.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate decision making among executive stakeholders.

  • In-depth understanding of information technology services and higher education stakeholder needs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

This is not a remote position. Up to 1-3 hybrid workdays per week may be available following a probationary period, depending on work duties and supervisor permission.
