Adjunct Faculty, English Composition

Elmhurst University, an equal opportunity employer committed to equity and inclusion, seeks part-time faculty to join our vibrant professional teaching and learning community in First-Year Writing during Spring term 2025. All first-year writing courses meet in person in computer-assisted writing labs. Enrollment in first-year writing courses is generally capped at 18 students.

Responsibilities include teaching 1 to 3 sections of Composition I and/or II, including in-person instruction and regular assessment of student learning outcomes.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Responsibilities for this adjunct faculty position include course preparation including syllabus development, teaching, grading and being available to students who have questions or require extra help.

Performs other teaching-related duties as assigned.

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
