Description
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Computer Vision for Nuclear Power Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in our Automation, Instrumentation and Controls department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Engineering Research Office Building facility with every other Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. You will to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based methods for computer vision applications such as image anomalies detection, image stitching, fire detection, instrument reading, and feature extraction for allowing autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle navigation. You will help grow technologies that automate nuclear power plant operations. You will handle various image formats, videos, and resolutions, and employing pre-processing techniques such as dataset balancing and debiasing to enhance image quality and prepare datasets for analysis. Familiarity with generative AI methods to create training data is necessary , and experience with temporal analysis of images is considered. Additionally, you will have strong Python programming skills and proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. We ask that you have analytical and computational skills; the ability to conduct independent research; communication, both verbally and in writing, with management, co-workers, and customers; the ability to work collaboratively in a versatile team environment; publish research results in a mix of refereed journal publications and conference proceedings; and write and contribute to technical reports and to preparing proposals to the DOE or internal INL funding opportunities.
