Amazon Channel Manager

Come help shape the growth of Johnson Outdoors by supporting the Amazon strategies for our iconic outdoor brands in Fishing, Watercraft, Camping and Diving!

The Amazon Channel Manager will support the Marketplace Lead in establishing and managing Amazon 1P relationships for the Fishing, Dive, and Camp/Watercraft Business Units within Johnson Outdoors. The role will require strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills to ensure the seamless integration of the 1P relationship into the organization's eCommerce strategy. They will function as the key liaison between internal teams and Amazon to optimize performance and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:



  • 1P Relationship Management:

    • Supports the creation and maintenance of 1P relationships for Dive and Camp/Watercraft Bus, while supporting execution of Fishing 1P relationship.
    • Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations with Amazon Vendor Central.
    • Supports Amazon-related communications to ensure smooth execution of retail media and sales initiatives.


  • Milestone & Project Management:

    • Tracks and supports the milestones outlined in the Amazon 1P Project Tracker for Dive and Camp/Watercraft Business Units.
    • Coordinates sub-milestones such as strategy launch, media execution, product content syndication, catalog management, and performance marketing campaign setup.
    • Ensures timely execution and alignment with broader business goals.


  • Demand Planning Coordination:

    • Works closely with the Demand Planning team to support forecast and management of inventory levels for Amazon.
    • Ensures proper inventory flow to meet Amazon's demand while minimizing out-of-stock risks.
    • Collaborates on promotional planning and seasonal stock requirements to ensure adequate product availability.


  • Content and Catalog Management:

    • Collaborates with the Content Management (Salsify) team to ensure product listings are optimized and up to date on Amazon, including titles, bullet points, product descriptions, and images.
    • Supports content syndication to ensure all product information is aligned with Amazon's requirements.


  • Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

    • BU Sales Teams: Works with the sales teams from each business unit to align on Amazon strategy execution, ensuring activities are consistent with broader retail initiatives.
    • BU Brand Teams: Coordinates with brand teams to ensure product positioning and messaging are aligned across all consumer touchpoints, including Amazon.
    • Product Management/Innovation: Collaborates with product teams to ensure that the product assortment offered on Amazon is relevant and aligned with category strategies.
    • Legal and Compliance: Ensures adherence to brand and legal guidelines, such as MAP enforcement, authorized reseller agreements, and other compliance matters related to Amazon.


  • Retail Media & Marketing Support:

    • Supports the execution of performance marketing campaigns on Amazon, primarily through PPC strategies.


  • Data Analytics and Reporting:

    • Analyzes and reports on key performance metrics related to Amazon sales, including traffic, conversion rates, and share of shelf.
    • Identifies areas for optimization within product pages, keywords, and inventory to drive growth.





Key Collaborators:



  • Demand Planning: Works closely with this team to ensure inventory levels and stock availability are aligned with Amazon's demand.
  • Content Management/Catalog Management: Supports accurate and updated product listings across Amazon, including titles, descriptions, and visuals.
  • BU Sales Teams: Aligns with sales objectives to ensure that Amazon strategies support overall revenue goals.
  • BU Brand Teams: Ensures product branding and messaging on Amazon align with the brand's overall strategy and positioning.
  • Product Management/Innovation: Coordinates product assortment for Amazon, ensuring it fits within category strategies and aligns with consumer demand.
  • Legal and Compliance: Ensures legal agreements and guidelines, including MAP policies and reseller authorizations, are followed in all Amazon dealings.
  • Customer Service: Partners with customer service teams to resolve any Amazon-related issues and ensure a smooth post-purchase experience.

Knowledge & Background Requirements:



  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, business or equivalent. .
  • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in collaborating with Amazon channels including managing IP relationships, closely collaborating with multiple cross functional teams, and managing complex projects.
  • Strong project management skills, especially related to ecommerce and marketplace management.
  • Excellent understanding of Amazon Vendor Central and best practices for 1P relationship management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze sales trends and implement optimizations.
  • Familiarity with demand planning, catalog management systems (e.g., Salsify), and digital marketing strategies (e.g., PPC).
