Our department is a large and complex organization supporting over 8,700 on-campus residents among 49 traditional halls, suites, and apartments, some of which were constructed for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Our team of 200+ professional staff and 300+ student staff from six departments support residents directly and indirectly with their unique talents. We are housed within the Student Engagement and Well-Being division, that includes many student service offices.

Mission

Housing and Residence Life offers quality, safe, well-maintained residential facilities. We encourage, promote, and facilitate customer-focused programs and services that attract students to our facilities and Georgia Tech. We provide physical, programmatic, and technological systems to enhance the quality of life on campus, support the academic needs of resident students, and complement the academic goals of the institute.

Perform routine and detailing housekeeping services requiring specialized tools and equipment. This position will interact on a consistent basis with other custodial staff, including Quality Control Inspectors and supervisors and building/area occupants. This position typically will advise and counsel NA. This position will supervise NA.

Job Duty 1 -

Perform specialized cleaning operations, typically including spray buffing, burnishing floors, sanitizing trash receptacles, stain removal, window cleaning, etc.

Job Duty 2 -

Strip and refinish floors

Job Duty 3 -

Perform routine housekeeping services as assigned, which normally include emptying of trash receptacles; dusting; spot cleaning; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, medical and food service areas; restocking supplies, dust, damp or wet mopping; sweeping and vacuuming.

Job Duty 4 -

Operate and maintain power equipment, which may include carpet vacuums, canister and tank vacuums, wide-area vacuums, backpack vacuums, spot-cleaning machines, and other powered equipment.

Job Duty 5 -

Maintain housekeeping/storage closets, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.

Job Duty 6 -

Utilize prescribed safety equipment as required

Job Duty 7 -

Utilize chemicals and supplies in a safe and prescribed manner

Job Duty 8 -

Respond to work requests from building occupants and the department's service request system.

Job Duty 9 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience

Two years of job-related experience

Pay Rate: $18.15/hr.

SKILLS

This job requires skills in delivering housekeeping services, including operating specialized cleaning equipment and using cleaning supplies.
