Junior AWS Developer

The job responsibilities include:

* Design new and modernize existing applications in support of the Actuarial Transformation initiative

* Work with development teams and product owners/managers to build software solutions.

* Implement solutions using AWS cloud services.

* Write effective APIs.

* Work with large volumes of data in both relational and No SQL databases.

* Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.

* Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

* Create security and data protection settings

* Write technical documentation

* Work with actuaries and analysts to elicit requirements for software development.

Your Desired Skills:

* College Degree with one of the following preferred majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or relevant field.

* A strong understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms

* Practical coding experience, with a strong preference in Python, Pyspark, Java, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)

* Strong knowledge of developing Restful Services and APIs utilizing Python or Java. * Strong knowledge of the AWS Cloud ecosystem and Lambda Services

* Fundamental knowledge using SQL

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

* An analytical mind with a willingness to learn

Other Comments: Experience with insurance industry and/or actuarial systems and processes is a plus
