IT Project Manager
This position is an on-campus, full-time, 12-month appointment covered by the Professional Support Staff (PSS) Union with an annual salary of 63,784.94.

The IT Project Manager role involves directing, overseeing, monitoring,
and reporting on IT projects. Collaborating with project stakeholders, this
position implements work plans to achieve project objectives, leading project
resources through analysis, requirement definition, user story development,
test plan execution, and project documentation maintenance. This appointment operates on a schedule with potential off-hour emergency
support as established by the Director of Enterprise Application Services. The
IT Project Manager handles the analysis, project planning, and implementation
phases critical to completing major IT projects at the College. The role
entails frequent handling of confidential information and records, requiring
the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while accurately
prioritizing tasks.

Essential Job Functions:
- Establish project needs, goals, deadlines, budget, and devise a comprehensive project plan.
- Implement project management strategies to ensure project success by monitoring performance, risk assessment, resource utilization, budgeting estimates, and schedule adherence.
- Manage resources for projects, including equipment, vendors, and internal staff.
- Lead project team members, develop schedules, and assign responsibilities.
- Organize meetings and prepare presentations on project status to project team and stakeholders.
- Motivate the team to ensure a productive work environment.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues.
- Conduct planning sessions for data migration and mapping
- Monitor expenditures and vendor invoices for accountability of pre-defined project budget.
- Complete a broad array of written project documentation including lessons learned post project.
- Coordinate both technical and functional user training
- Provide potential off-hour support as requested and approved by the Director.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education.
- Experience managing project resources and executing project work plans.
- Proven expertise in applying project management methodologies (e.g., PMI PMBOK Guide, Agile frameworks).
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences and ability to develop user stories.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people collaboratively to foster collaborative relationships.
- Ability to work independently, be a team leader, and work as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, work with shifting priorities and schedules.
- Experience in written and verbal presentations.
- In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment.
