As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. Reporting to the Estimating Supervisor, you will be responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of complex communications projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Estimating and Cost Analysis:
    • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for large and complex bids.
    • Develop accurate cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, material, labor, and equipment.
    • Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to optimize project costs.
    • Develop and review indirect staffing models, project schedules, and execution strategies.
  • Bid Preparation:
    • Lead the preparation of comprehensive bid packages, including technical specifications and commercial terms.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure constructability and alignment with the estimate.
    • Facilitate bid clarifications and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Foster strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
    • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
    • Collaborate with the LTS United States and Canada estimating teams to share best practices and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in utility construction projects
  • 2+ years of construction estimating experience in Outside Plant Construction (OSP), gas, electric, water, or Telecommunications, in a variety of complex multidiscipline projects
  • 2+ years of experience using InEight Estimate
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and related estimating software
  • Thorough understanding of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Knowledge of construction costs, budgets, and scheduling
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience estimating underground/overhead utilities (asset)
  • Electrical trades background (asset)
  • Knowledge of BIM modeling (asset)

Working Conditions:

  • This role provides a flexible working environment, balancing your responsibilities between the comfort of your home office and the collaborative environment of our office spaces
  • Travel up to 25% of the time across the United States and Canada
