POSITION SUMMARY:

The person in this role will work with the Director and provide both strategic and tactical business and client development support to the firm's Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life consulting practices with a primary focus on practices in the US.

This person will work with stakeholders at all levels, from Principals and office managers to consultants and heads of department, to embed best practice and play an integral role in the team implementing BD & Marketing plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business planning with practices:



  • Understanding current client base, clients at risk, clients with opportunities
  • Identifying gaps in activity, eg are they creating enough content, are they active enough on social media, what are their training needs
  • Help practices utilize their budget effectively / make cases to steering committees for budget
  • Providing advice to practices and groups of practices and input on activities they can undertake


RFP Development:



  • Provide input and direction on creating compelling proposals
  • Lead of important / high value / cross-practice or cross-discipline opportunities
  • Project manage RFP rate requests
  • Be a point person for procurement teams at client organizations


Client Development:



  • Working with individual practices or a group of practices on client specific growth - looking at where current revenue is coming from, looking for gaps/opportunities for growth, helping practices collaborate
  • With the CRM team, encourage practices to better utilize our CRM system (MS Dynamics) to enable collaboration and growth. Helping them understand tracking metrics available, other reports and dashboards of value to their business.


Event Strategy:



  • Supporting practices with decision making for events - are we focusing on the right things at events - which clients are attending, what do we want to talk to them about, who from Milliman is going, how can we best position ourselves
  • Advising practices on spend and ROI for events


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:



  • The ideal candidate must have previous client and business development experience gained in the professional services sector.
  • The ideal candidate must have the ability to rapidly develop trust and operate as a respected and proactive internal consultant, coaching those involved in growing the business.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, set goals/benchmarks for projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with first class consultancy skills.
  • Must be culturally clever with a strong ability to work effectively with colleagues from around the globe.
  • Must have excellent project management skills with proven ability to follow through and deliver results.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (knowledge of MS Dynamics is desirable).


LOCATION:

This is a remote role. This job posting is expected to close on December 30th, 2024

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

10% Travel; domestic

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this role is $98,000 to $198,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
