The incumbent will work at Mount Vernon Printing/RRD in Laurel, Maryland. Mount Vernon Printing is diverse location with a various of equipment and capabilities (sheetfed, digital sheetfed, digital web, full bindery, mailing, shipping and fulfillment). Job Description The incumbent is primarily responsible for directing, planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of production department operations which also includes the performance of all functions within the department. *Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. *Coordinate production activities with warehouse, procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of machines and equipment. *Conduct Daily Production meetings. *Review and analyze quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems. -Drive integrity of shopfloordata to drive improvements at the facility. Meet regularly with teams to identify areas for improvement and share results. *Compiles distributes, evaluates, and actions production metrics. *Develop and revise production schedules and priorities as a result of customer requirements, equipment failure, or operating problems. *Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. *Identify and develop continuous improvements to production processes with the supervisors and Lead Lean experts. *Ensures process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness. * Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules and regulations. Works with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero accidents/incidents. *Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
Job Knowledge & Skills Qualifications 5-10 years of related experience,including leadership experience 2 Year / Associate Degree
Additional Information The national pay range for this role is $87,300 to $143,500/ year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
