Overall Summary

As Director, Medical Education, you will provide oversight for the development, direction and coordination of all North American medical education activities at MicroPort Orthopedics. Collaborate with other departments to seek new initiatives and goal setting for annual medical education program to achieve best practices.

Your duties will include:



  1. Establish MPO objectives along with marketing and sales for annual regional medical education calendar along with sponsorships and exhibits program. The Director actively provides leadership in all phases of the development of medical education programs.
  2. Direct and facilitate agenda creation, brochure development, faculty invitations and engagements, communication to sales and internal employees for all med ed events and coordination of all meetings/labs processes both on and off site along with identifying program changes or improvements, and measuring the impact of those program changes or improvements
  3. Oversee the regional medical education budget and monitors all spend for employees, surgeons trained and meeting/lab expenses monthly.
  4. Oversee the daily operations of MPO industry exhibits and sponsorships program for both the US, Canada.
  5. Direct the design, construction and purchase of booth properties for industry events
  6. The Director coordinates selection and recruitment of faculty to meet specific educational needs
  7. Coordinate all details of MPO National Sales Meeting including but not limited to site selection, contract negotiation, travel/ground, hotel, F&B, event space, packing meeting materials, production, shipping, website registration
  8. Train, coach and develop direct reports both personally and professionally. Ensure adherence to the Medical Education Policy in particular and all compliance rules and regulations set forth in the MPO Corporate Integrity Agreement.
  9. Develop and maintain product line technical expertise and contacts with key surgeons and customers by supporting first time surgeries; hosting Surgical Observation Visits, (SOV), local and regional hip and knee labs, attending medical/scientific meetings, presentations, and seminars while gathering competitive information. Act as a regional technical resource for field sales representatives.
  10. Must be able to travel (30-40%) and work weekends as assigned.

YOUR EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred: Master's Degree

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 years related experience required



  • Extensive experience in the medical device industry, particularly medical education and/or compliance reporting is essential
  • Experience in collaborating with surgeons, hospital administrators, staff and clinicians
