Job Summary:



The eConsult Manager supports the Peer Mentored Care Collaborative's (PMCC) eConsult program by having a key role in its implementation, management, and growth across diverse healthcare settings. This position is responsible for standardizing the implementation of eConsults at new community locations, ensuring smooth onboarding, operationalizing projects, and providing ongoing support. The Manager will be responsible for recognizing trends and ensuring the analysis of eConsult data to drive continuous process improvements and support quality enhancement initiatives. The Manager will lead the initiation and rollout of innovative eConsult projects funded by state and federal grants while providing operational guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and best practice standards, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.

Beyond operational leadership, the eConsult Manager will manage a dynamic team that includes a data analyst, project coordinator, and research informaticist. The Manager will also collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance eConsult workflows and electronic health record integration. In alignment with PMCC's strategic vision, the Manager will develop long-term plans for eConsult billing, monitor quality improvement efforts to maintain high standards of care and engage with community partners to expand eConsult utilization and provider training. The Manager will research and engage with best practice standards and working with identified community partners will consider the impact of implementation related to the quadruple aims. In addition, the Manager will engage with community partners to understand the unique challenges and opportunities that exist in each specific location and use that local expertise to initiate a place-based solution. Working with identified community partners on access to care challenges and referral pathways will also be important. The role requires a leader who can actively listen and foster strong relationships with third-party vendors, drive team collaboration, and provide direction on innovative ways to leverage data for program growth and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

eConsult Operations - 50%



  • Manage the eConsult team to provide a robust approach to eConsult implementation, evaluation, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Lead efforts to standardize the implementation of AristaMD at new site locations to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support.
  • Support training initiatives for providers and staff on eConsult tools and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the eConsult data analyst to monitor eConsult trends and support the conceptualization of strategies for process and quality improvement.
  • Drive operational support for state and federal grant-funded projects focused on innovative eConsult efforts.
  • Provide operational guidance on the effective use of resources and confirm compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including AristaMD, ensuring that service-level agreements are met.
  • Develop team meeting agendas & facilitate eConsult team meeting with direction from PMCC leadership.
  • Facilitate regular updates and presentations to leadership on eConsult performance, challenges, and future directions.


Procedure Development- 20%



  • Continuously identify evolving best practices for e-consult program implementation across settings and translate them into standard operations for the e-consult program.
  • Work alongside Epic teams to streamline and enhance eConsult workflows and integration.
  • Partner with UCHealth and CU School of Medicine IT teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing system support for eConsult initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures for eConsult deployment and implementation across various platforms and sites.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and clinical quality standards when implementing eConsult systems.


Strategic Planning - 15%



  • Collaborate with academic-community partnerships to develop a formalized pathway for specialty care referrals with CU School of Medicine providers, recognizing programs that are both under PMCC and external to PMCC.
  • Formulate a comprehensive plan for eConsult billing over the next five years to ensure sustainability and growth.
  • Innovate ways to leverage data to boost eConsult adoption, quality, and impact on patient outcomes.
  • Assist in grant writing and reporting as needed to secure funding for innovative eConsult initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs and other performance metrics to maintain high standards of care delivery, patient outcomes, and provider satisfaction through eConsult services.
  • Collaborate with PMCC leadership and the Medical Director of Aurora Specialty Care to address issues related to healthcare access through the e-consult and ECHO programs, while including adjacent programs as appropriate such as the Clinical Pathways program.


Community Engagement - 15%



  • Gain a deep understanding of eConsult utilization trends, gaps, and implementation challenges across the state and local communities.
  • Collaborate with other campus and community partners to integrate eConsults and ECHO into community practices to improve referral pathways for local providers.
  • Engage with other eConsult platforms and partners to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing, driving forward the use of eConsults in various care settings.
  • Maintain relationships with key partners to facilitate the successful expansion and sustainability of eConsult services.

Remote - this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least five (5) years of experience directly managing remote healthcare services and programs.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis but not for the specific years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in business, public health, healthcare administration, or communications.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing large-scale operational rollouts in healthcare.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and ability to interpret trends to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Expert knowledge of telehealth platforms with experience in integrating these platforms into existing healthcare infrastructures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across IT, clinical, and administrative teams.
  • Experience with practice-based research and/or engagement with community-based providers.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $75,643 to $96,217.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
