What You'll Do:

Be a Mentor and Guide: Build genuine connections with youth, share relevant and intentional experiences to instill confidence and build trust. Meet youth one on one in community or onsite to coordinate supportive services.

Empower Through Advocacy: Help young people navigate complex systems, access resources, collaborate and coordinate with other providers, and make informed decisions about their own journey to educational reengagement and independent living

Support Growth and Learning: Engage in case planning and skill building to help youth move towards greater independence. Support youth in educational goals, employment navigation and skills around housing independence.

Document the Journey: Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.

Qualifications:

* Significant work and or lived experience OR Bachelor's Degree in counseling, psychology, education or social work

* Minimum of two years of experience working with youth who face multiple barriers

* Bilingual in Spanish, preferred (with additional compensation)

* Understanding of the impacts of trauma on mental health, substance use, and young adult development

* Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with youth who are street-involved and have experienced sexual exploitation and/or unsafe communal environments

* Familiar and comfortable with engaging youth experiencing houselessness and utilizing a harm reduction approach in response to substance use and survival behaviors

* Experience, ability and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community

* Experience in navigating educational systems preferred

* Must possess excellent communication, organization, creativity, flexibility, and interpersonal skills

* Use of personal automobile for transporting self and clients for work purposes

* Must have access to an automobile, a valid driver's license, and active auto insurance on that vehicle

* Must be willing to be CPR trained and certified
