WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Houston, TX plant, you will be a Quality Tech I. The Quality Technician will be responsible for process set-up verification and provides specialized technical support to engineers and production for final product characteristics. Test processed materials against quality specification, assists in trouble-shooting production issues. Provides alerts to key personnel on negative trending. They will be required on short notice to fill in for absences, vacation, etc. on other shifts. This responsibility includes the comparison of product to specifications and meeting the needs of the customer. This position has responsibility for quality goals, cost of poor quality, PPM and internal scrap. This position functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
Key responsibilities: *
Performs quality tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards
* Review and analyzes SPC charts, Bell curves and related data * Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards * Recommends modifications to existing, or suggest new, standards, methods and procedures * Other tasks or duties as assigned ABOUT YOU
*
Associates degree in a technical/scientific field (math, computers, science, engineering) with related experience preferred
* 3 years' experience in manufacturing or 2 years' experience in a laboratory setting or in quality preferred * Operates under limited supervision; independently determines approach to completing assignments * Ability to handle varied and moderately complex assignments * Decision making involves compiling and organizing information from a variety of sources and usingi judgement in applying internal guidelines and procedures * Accurate record keeping * May provide training, guidance and work direction for less senior * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Ability to perform mathematical calculations * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and problem solving skills * Ability to work successfully in a team environment * Ability to follow standardized procedures * Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control * Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite PAY & BENEFITS *
