Waterfront Systems Technician

Position Summary:

As a Systems Technician, you will support the U.S. Navy in designing, developing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting Control, Navigation, and Network systems on US Navy ships. The selected candidates will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers, logisticians, and equipment manufacturers.

Locations: Philadelphia, PA

Clearance Requirement:

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a Systems Technician responsible for system installation, testing, and troubleshooting support.
  • Conduct software and hardware integration testing.
  • Develop and implement test procedures.
  • Emphasize remote support and troubleshooting, as well as on-site assistance for Navy ships.
  • Collaborate with US Navy engineers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and vendors to prepare equipment for installation, testing, and troubleshooting.


Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical circuits using the appropriate tools
  • Experienced in comprehensive systems troubleshooting
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring connection lists, and related documents
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, etc.)
  • Prior military service related to IBS/INBS is a plus
  • Knowledge of the software development process is a plus
  • QA experience, such as identifying excessive cable bend radius and ensuring proper installation of equipment, is a plus
  • Computer/Electronics experience with A+ or Security+ certification is a plus


Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • This position may require up to 25% travel
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to safely work aboard Navy vessels while in a production environment, pier side, or while underway.
