The Cardiac Sonographer 3 functions as a mid-level healthcare provider who provides patient services using diagnostic echocardiography and works under the delegated authority of the Echo Lab Medical Director who is responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. The roles and responsibilities extend beyond those of a staff sonographer and are focused on providing advanced clinical echocardiography services. The Advanced Sonographer's functions are performed consistent with their education and training and accordance with facility protocols, policies, and procedures as applicable professional standards. Demonstrates the cognitive and technical skills required to perform comprehensive echocardiographic imaging on fetal, neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients with an advanced level of expertise in congenital heart disease. Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound. Records and processes echocardiographic data. Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings. Assists and participates in the ongoing development and implementation of continual quality improvement and education initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Position Compensation Range: $33.94 - $54.30 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical or echocardiography ultrasound program with an associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree required within five years. Experience: Experience scanning complex congenital heart disease required. License/Certification: ARDMS or CCI certification aso RDCS (PE) or RCCSo RDCS (FE)American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids, and disease.
