Under the direction of the supervisor, supports the functions of the Scheduling Office by coordinating the daily OR schedule for Perioperative Services.
- Audits case request orders and scheduled cases for accuracy and completeness, including, but not limited to:
- Finalizes the OR schedules for each given day, by the deadline set for each location (9:00 a.m. 3-days in advance for OPSC and 9:00 a.m. 1-day before for Main OR), ensuring that:
- Handles add-on cases and schedule changes after the deadline, taking into account all of the above, with added restrictions on time left available, trying to not change the order of other cases where patients have already been given arrival times, ensuring resource availability (staffing/equipment/implant/instruments, etc.) Coordinate with charge nurses, anesthesia board runner, supply chain, call nurses, surgical team, and patients when appropriate.
- Maximizes OR utilization and patient access:
- Supports the initiative that patients are operated on in the most appropriate location by helping ensure patients are sent to PETC and reviewed by a Medical Director as necessary. Follow-up on outpatient cases that were scheduled in the Main OR but should be done at the OPSC, find time at the Main OR for cases scheduled at OPSC that are too sick for OPSC, etc.
- Enforces various OR block and scheduling policies to include but not limited to pediatric blocks, surgeon presence and staggers for concurrency, OPSC exclusionary guidelines including sleep apnea, etc.
- Resolves Epic issues/problems by working with the Epic Optime team, provides input to management on potential Epic enhancements and workflow improvements, using LEAN/A3/Be Safe methodology.
- Acts as customer service representative, educator and policy enforcer with the surgical departments they serve (two-to-five services, with cross-training to cover all services).

Position Compensation Range: $18.01 - $27.92 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a clinical setting (hospital, surgery center or ambulatory clinic) in administrative or clinical roles Licensure: None required.
