Job Summary

Saunders Corp. Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Inside Sales Specialist to join our Converting Manufacturing Team. In this role, you will partner with our Outside Sales Converting team to serve new and existing customers by identifying their needs, engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with internal and external partners to improve business and create solutions that serve both Saunders Corp. and R.S. Hughes' customers. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities



  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing effective relationships with new and existing customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Guide and assist customers with product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Receives new and existing sales opportunities, reviews RFQs, and ensures all necessary data is present. Follow up on existing RFQ'S. Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate department (i.e., estimating or engineering).
  • Develop and retain strong business relationship with strategic customers by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Ability to add margin to cost estimates.
  • Manage Sample part request from Customer/Converter specialist.
  • Source new material for key account applications.
  • Work with vendors to get deviated price and/or contract pricing.
  • Enter and maintain sales data in Proton at all phases of the sales process.
  • Actively manage and grow a dedicated customer base and high potential accounts.
  • Partner with Saunders Converting Specialists to meet or exceed Saunders sales goals.
  • Establish new accounts and service accounts by identifying potential customers, planning, and organizing sales call schedule.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, use of materials or services to gain customer acceptance.
  • Ask probing questions to further understand the customer's needs and offering solutions.
  • Utilize technical, mechanical, creative skills to effectively collaborate with customer engineering departments.
  • Develop customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actions.
  • Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in customer service or phone-based sales support in a manufacturing or engineering environment required.
  • Converting manufacturing sales experience preferred.

Working Conditions



  • This job operates in both office and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Occasional manufacturing support may be required as needed.



Target Base Compensation range for this non-exempt role is $40.00 - $44.00/ hr. DOE.

This is a Full-Time position, eligible to participate in the Company's benefit plans including: Paid Time off; major medical, dental, vision; Company paid short-term and long-term disability; paid parental leave; various supplemental benefit plans; and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
