Departmental Overview

Berkeley SkyDeck is one of the top tech accelerators in the U.S., and part of UC Berkeley. SkyDeck is home to 280+ startups a year and is a joint venture of UC Berkeley's College of Engineering, the Haas School of Business, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. SkyDeck's mission is to serve as the leading hub for entrepreneurship globally.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator position supports Berkeley SkyDeck's program team in handling and managing the program including program logistics and planning as well as duties surrounding setting up and organizing the many events and workshops that take place at SkyDeck.

Responsibilities

* Manage the programmatic needs of SkyDeck's startups with a special emphasis and focus on the international startups and founders that come to SkyDeck.
* Provide administrative support as needed to key program staff supporting global innovation partners.
* Manage any and all founder inquiries regarding SkyDeck facilities and operations.
* Facilitate the planning and organization of programs, networking events to help connect international founders to advisors, investors and corporate partners.
* Facilitate events for talent matching (i.e. intern fairs) and act as a point of contact with student organizations and campus partners.
* Conduct surveys and analysis of founder satisfaction with the program and recommend and implement improvements and changes on an ongoing basis.
* Manage scheduling of all programmatic elements including workshops, office hours, advisor and investor meetings, etc.
* Track expenses tied to the Innovation Partner Program.
* Manage AV needs for programs and events.

Required Qualifications

* Working knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
* Requires strong demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
* High school diploma and/or equivalent experience/training.

Preferred Qualifications

* One year of professional work experience
* Flexible and able to work under pressure in a high-volume and fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Salary & Benefits

This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) non-exempt career position, which is paid hourly and eligible for UC Benefits.

This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical & Allied Services Unit (CX) between the University of California and Teamsters Local 2010.
