LinQuest, a KBR Company has an opening for a CAD Technician. This position requires you to have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.

Who You Are

Under direct supervision, prepares drawings and tracings using command and data entry methods applicable to CAD system in use. Operates plotters and similar output devices to generate copies of drawing files. May perform design preparation tasks such as PC board path layout and configuration, internal/external packaging, panel control layouts, etc.

This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award.

What You'll Do

As CAD Technician, you will:




  • Prepare Drawings: Under direct supervision, prepare detailed drawings and tracings using the commands and data entry methods specific to the CAD (Computer-Aided Design) system in use.



  • Operate CAD Equipment: Skillfully operate plotters and other output devices to generate hard copies of drawing files.



  • Perform Design Tasks: Engage in design preparation activities which may include PC board path layout and configuration, internal and external packaging, and control panel layouts.



  • Maintain CAD Files: Ensure that all CAD files are properly managed, updated, and stored in accordance with company guidelines.



  • Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with engineers and other technical team members to understand the requirements and specifications for designs.



  • Implement Revisions: Apply changes and revisions to designs as directed by engineers or supervisors, ensuring all updates are accurately reflected in CAD drawings.



  • Follow Supervision: Adhere to guidelines and instructions provided by supervisors to meet the technical and design standards of the organization.



  • Ensure Accuracy: Check and verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings and specifications before submission for review or use in further engineering activities.



  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest CAD technologies and software updates to improve efficiency and quality of work.



  • Report Progress: Regularly report progress and any issues encountered to the supervising staff to ensure that project timelines and quality standards are met.



  • Other duties as required




Qualifications:




  • Minimum 2 years technical drafting/design training from either a accredited technical school or military training and 4 years prior drafting experience. Experience managing similar USG projects of size, scope and complexity, preferably with NRO experience to adequately understand mission needs across the project



  • Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.



  • Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.



  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.




Preferred Qualifications:




  • 5+ years technical drafting/design training from either a accredited technical school or military training and 4 years prior drafting experience. Experience managing similar USG projects of size, scope and complexity



  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred




Clearance: Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
