Duties and Responsibilities
This position leads recruitment and operations for the executive degree programs (Executive MBA and Healthcare Management MBA) and supports the Graduate Program Director, Executive Degrees on program strategy and other needs. Engages and serves prospective and current executive degree students with their graduate education and experience, in collaboration with Quinlan Graduate Business Programs staff and leadership.

The Assistant Director, Executive Degree Programs is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure success of the Executive MBA and Healthcare Management MBA programs in areas including but not limited to recruitment and retention, admissions and yield management, prospective and current student communications, new student on-boarding and orientation, registration and advising, program operations and execution, and other needs.
The Quinlan School of Business's executive degree programs are two-year, cohort-based programs designed for mid-career, working professionals. Knowledge of this student population and their needs and preferences is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comprehension of and responsibility for the unique needs of these customized, cohort-based MBA programs and commitment to serving them where they are in their careers. This role requires regular attendance on most on-campus class days (two Saturdays per month, on average), where the Assistant Director will actively engage with students and faculty, fostering a sense of community during cohort-specific meals and events.
The Assistant Director, Executive Degree Programs position offers a professional opportunity for an individual with recruiting, operations, and student experience interests and talents within a dynamic environment. This staff role supports the Graduate Program Director, Executive Degrees and reports to the Assistant Dean, Graduate Operations.
Recruitment and Student Engagement:

  • Proactively initiate 1-on-1 connections (via phone, video call, email) and communicate effectively with prospective executive degree students-fielding questions and maintaining responsiveness throughout the admissions funnel, from initial inquiry to enrollment.
  • Plan, develop, and lead creative and engaging recruitment events (e.g., online and in-person information sessions, campus visits for prospective students on select Saturdays, offsite speaking engagements).
  • Manage a database of prospective student records to manage individual enrollment needs, including current knowledge of where individual is in the application funnel and possible barriers to admission and enrollment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with program alumni, industry groups, and employers to grow enrollment in executive degree programs.
  • Interact effectively with current students, staff, and faculty, including new and experienced instructors teaching in executive degrees programs, to advocate for students, address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure a positive educational experience.
  • Lead and execute multi-day on-campus new student orientation (hosted annually in August) in coordination with various on- and off-campus partners.
  • Build and maintain centralized student internal communication and information sites.
  • Collaborate and align efforts with cross-functional units across the School (e.g., Quinlan Graduate Business Staff) and University (e.g., Office of the Bursar, Office of Records and Registration, Graduate and Professional Enrollment Management, Enrollment Marketing Communications, Office of International Programs). This role has many touchpoints and a degree of visibility within the University.
  • Review and process tuition awards and work closely with Financial Aid Office each quarter to assure awards are posted to student accounts.
  • Manage and lead strategic relationships with external vendors and suppliers that are integral to the seamless delivery of customized executive degree programs.
  • Support the Graduate Program Director, Executive Degrees in the operational coordination and strategic development of curated educational experiences, including but not limited to international immersion courses (i.e., study abroad) and co-curricular activities.
  • Facilitate synergies between the executive degree programs (e.g., Executive MBA, Healthcare MBA) and executive education, in collaboration with leaders in the Executive and Professional Education Center (EPEC) to streamline and support mutual growth.
  • Indirectly oversee and engage administrative assistant and student worker supporting roles.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in business administration, higher education, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management or a related field required.

Proficiency with technology (e.g., Microsoft Office) is required and the ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability to learn university software programs as needed. Prior experience with Slate and PeopleSoft is preferred.
