Here's what you'd do:

  • The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer-Hardware Design (HW) will be part of the R&D organization and an essential contributor to the realization of the next-generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare.
  • You will be an apparent technical resource working on developing complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment.
  • This role is suited for a senior-level R&D engineer.
  • Lead designing complex mechanical systems from concept to validation.
  • Implement Computer-aided design (CAD) best practices, including master sketch/modeling and model base design (MBD).
  • Create 2D mechanical and electrical (cable) drawings using GD&T where needed.
  • Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout
  • Creation of 2D/3D drawings with working knowledge of ASME drafting standards, including GD&T (Y14.5-2018)
  • Support various multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
  • Help with vendor communications and procurement issues.
  • Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop production and support documentation, including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings, and maintenance instructions.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with complex electromechanical systems in a highly regulated R&D environment.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in developing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in designing for machined parts.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in casted and molded parts.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience designing for compliance with IEC 60601, design for manufacturability, and design for serviceability.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical system design, assembly, and testing.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in industry best practices for developing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Minimum 6 years of CAD experience highly in SolidWorks and PDM.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS Finite Element Analysis tools.
  • Minimum 6 years experience with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECOs.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in using MS Office.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Medical device design and development experience.
  • Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimum supervision.
  • Outstanding documentation and communication skills.
