THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Parole Board is seeking an individual with excellent organizational skills and administrative experience to fill the role of Parole Manager 2. In this role, you will oversee the Case Management Division of the Records and Administration Office and assist the Director of the Records and Administration Office with office operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As Chief of the Case Management Division, your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth implementation of case processing procedures. You will oversee the quality assurance and inmate inquiry programs, monitoring the processing of cases to ensure accuracy and quality of decisions. In addition, you will have oversight of the sentence entry and docket units, which are responsible for ensuring accurate sentencing information and timely availability of necessary documents for decision makers. Lastly, you will oversee the circulation unit, which handles routing cases for signatures and analysis, as well as processing memos from various divisions of the Parole Board and the Office of Victim Advocate. Your role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and integrity of the case management process.

As the overseer of the Juvenile Lifer Committee for the agency, you will be responsible to interact with various members, including staff from the Office of Board Secretary, the Re-entry and Field Services, the Chairman's Special Assistant, the Department of Corrections' Deputy Secretary's Assistant, the Department of Corrections Treatment Services, Legal, and the Office of Victim Advocate staff. You will attend monthly meetings with the Department of Corrections to discuss updates on juvenile cases and review pending decisions or release statuses. You will prepare for these meetings by ensuring the case information is up-to-date and communicate relevant information to the decision makers. Additionally, you will follow up to the Juvenile Lifer meeting by providing any information that may assist in the decision-making process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Parole Manager 1; or
  • Three years of professional experience dealing with offenders or offender programs, casework or counseling of offenders, or auditing of offender caseloads, in probation, parole, corrections, or a law enforcement agency; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional experience dealing with offenders or offender programs, casework or counseling of offenders, or auditing of offender caseloads, in probation, parole, corrections, or a law enforcement agency.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires you to obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification within three months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.
