The Department of Political Science and Public Administration has award-winning faculty. It offers an M.P.A., B.A., two minors, two concentrations, and is a core department in the interdisciplinary Public Policy PhD Program. The Department has 25 full-time faculty members. The Gerald G. Fox Master of Public Administration Program is NASPAA-accredited and ranks among the top 20% of public affairs schools nationwide.
As the largest and most academically diverse college at UNC Charlotte, the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences houses 15 departments, 18 interdisciplinary programs, and 6 applied centers. We offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs with extensive honors and early-entry options. Description of Work

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recognizes the differentiation of mission, goals, and objectives inherent in the diversity of disciplines represented by its colleges and departments. Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position will include teaching the University's Foundations of American Democracy course for the University's General Education Requirement and other classes in the instructor's expertise. The teaching load is 4 courses each Fall and Spring semester.
Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. (or an equivalent terminal degree) in Political Science or a related field at the time of appointment. Candidates must have teaching ability in American politics and a commitment to teaching in a dynamic, access-oriented, urban research university. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching-related experience, and evidence of the potential for excellence in face-to-face, online, and hybrid teaching. Salary: $63,500.
