Job Overview

This is an onsite position. Locations can be Peoria, IL or Longview, TX

The Industrial Engineer works within Komatsu's Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Lean Operations,the primary functions of the position include work measurement, development and maintenance of cost routings, process optimization, and management of lean initiatives from conception to completion.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Create and modify routings. Routings queries: Assess contents of routing and times. Adjust routing based on findings.
  • Assist with improving the quality within the departments.
  • Create and facilitate PFMEA for new product development and existing product.
  • Create and maintained Visual Work Instructions
  • Plan and implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost, improve productivity, safety, quality, velocity, OTD, etc.
  • Identify, evaluate, and applied Ergonomic principles throughout the shop floor.
  • Conduct end to end time studies of work centers/operations
  • Use Lean tools to support CI activity (Kanban, A3, PDCA, VA vs NVA schematic, Yamazumi Board)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Similar
  • At least 2 years of progressive engineering experience acquired through technical knowledge of manufacturing, machining, gearing, and heat treating.
  • Ability to establish and manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with ERP Systems (SAP preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Solid Works, Excel, Project Word, Outlook & PowerPoint.
