Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As a product engineer, you will be actively engaged in the New Product Introduction process for Surfscan and Wafersight products. In this role, you will be working side-by-side with the engineering team to ensure the designs are reliable and meet serviceability requirements:

  • Unique opportunity to interact with engineering teams across multiple products throughout the entire company.

  • Dynamic work place that encourages creativity and hands on approach.

  • Impact future serviceability improvements include cost of service reductions, reliability improvements, operational efficiency.

  • Drive serviceability requirements for various system and subsystems.

  • Coordinates and performs root cause analysis using the 7-step methodology to solve problems.

  • High awareness of field issues and ability to identity knowledge gaps. Drive procedural/ training improvements and adoptions.

  • Create processes and protections to secure KLA Intellectual Property

  • Solid engineering and data analysis fundamentals.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a multi-discipline system environment, preferably with knowledge of mechatronics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Level Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related fields highly preferred

  • 2+ years showing progressively increasing scope of responsibilities

  • Experience working with optics and electromechanical systems

  • Hardware & software engineering experience with demonstrable troubleshooting skills

  • Have a working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, optical-mechanical systems, DUV Laser fundamentals, wafer handling systems and servo control systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with out experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Analytical and data analysis skills - Proficient with data analysis tools such as Power BI, JMP or Matlab
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidate must be dedicated, yet a strong great teammate.
