DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In your role within the Regional Traffic Management Center, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic throughout the region. This will involve supporting the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program, managing the region's ITS maintenance and operations contract, and overseeing incident management activities. You will be responsible for providing coordination support for the central region ITS maintenance and operations contract and its associated agreements. Your efforts will be essential in maintaining the seamless operation of various traffic management technologies.
Your duties will include ensuring the functionality of changeable message signs, highway advisory radios, semi-permanent flashing warning devices, variable speed limit devices, roadway weather information systems, closed-circuit television, and other ITS equipment, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of the region's traffic management initiatives. Additionally, you will be tasked with monitoring and conducting remote diagnostics of field equipment to identify any failures. This includes generating problem reports and tracking the repair or replacement of malfunctioning devices, thereby ensuring that traffic management systems remain reliable and efficient.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after successful completion of a probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or
- Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or
- One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
