The Opportunity The Department of Anthropology in the College of Sciences (COS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-earning assistant professor in medical anthropology, anticipated to begin August 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cultural anthropology and medical anthropology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in different modalities including face-to-face and online. Geographical research area is open. We are especially interested in an individual who can contribute through their research, teaching, and service to the excellence of our academic community and foster an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive. The Department of Anthropology currently includes 19 full-time faculty who are committed to innovative teaching at the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. levels. Anthropology faculty demonstrate significant scholarly research, collaborative community partnership development, and active professional organization involvement. We value collegiality and promote interdisciplinary and collaborative endeavors. Since our only major launched in 2017, it has been recognized by multiple media outlets as one of the best online anthropology programs in the country.
