Overview

The Counseling Center provides outreach and direct clinical services including consultation to parents, deans, faculty, and other concerned members of the university community; outreach activities and related programs; initial evaluations and psychodiagnosis; treatment planning; individual short-term psychotherapy; crisis intervention; group treatment; and referral services.


What You'll Do

This position will start August August 18, 2025, and end August 14, 2026.

This is a full-time, 12-month appointment in a busy college mental health clinic. This position is one of three postdoctoral fellowships; fellows will work alongside psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric staff to provide a full range of clinical and outreach services to the Tufts community. In addition to the work outlined above, fellows will receive 2 hours of individual supervision and 1 hour of group supervision per week. Fellows will also participate in weekly staff meetings, clinical team meetings, and training seminars.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and working towards a Doctorate in Psychology (PhD, PsyD, EdD)
  • All degree requirements, including the dissertation defense, must be completed by August 20, 2025, and receipt of the degree will need to be verified no later than September 1, 2025
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific training and experience working with diverse populations including-but not limited to-students of color, LGBTQIA students, and students of different ethnicities and immigration histories is desirable
  • Clinical experience in a college mental health setting is desirable but not required
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records is helpful
  • Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

Some after-hours outreach programming is required. This is a hybrid position; fellows are expected to be on campus 3-4 days a week, with 5 days on campus as an option if desired.


Pay Range

Minimum $48,500.00, Midpoint $60,750.00, Maximum $73,000.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
