Elastic Stack Engineer and Architect, Senior

The Opportunity:

Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing big data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their big data to impact important missions in national intelligence.

As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll architect, deploy, and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, system and security engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will facilitate customer strategy, roadmaps, design, and planning for enterprise observability leveraging big data. You will design, build, secure, maintain, and optimize ELK (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) solutions for on prem and cloud-based Linux environments. You'll manage and support automation solutions for ElasticStack deployment and orchestration. You'll maintain and administer distributed Elastic environment, including nodes, clusters, and security features. You'll onboard and optimize data sources to Elastic Search using Beats, Logstash, or custom ingestion pipelines, integrating and normalizing the data to ensure data quality and consistency. You will provide operational support for Elastic Agents and Beats on Linux and Windows endpoints. You'll design, develop, and maintain indexes, queries, and custom dashboards using Elastic Stack for monitoring and visualization of system metrics, logs, and traces. You'll implement and maintain security best practices for Elastic Stack, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with DoD standards. You will author and maintain documentation for Elastic Stack configurations, processes, and procedures.
