JOB SUMMARY The Sr. Information Resources Cloud Manager leads a team of professionals to design, develop, and support infrastructure systems. In this role, you will oversee day activities of the platform infrastructure team and provide direction and solutions that enhance mission-critical operations of the Information Resources Department. You will maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery and oversee the Windows servers infrastructure, active directory, and both on-premises and in Cloud used by the University's mission critical applications. Our ideal candidate has one or more of the following certifications: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Certified. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Manages one or more technically complex divisions of Information Resources, utilizing effective management, communication, consulting, and customer service skills.
- Maintain, support, and build out infrastructure and services currently operating on-prem and in Cloud.
- Lead a team in building world-class, multi-cloud capable services by:
- Automating build processes - VMWare and public cloud like Azure/AWS/GCP
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such Bicep, Terraform
- Building highly resilient cloud eco-systems capable of high availability and scale
- Experience building out or supporting enterprise scale public cloud like Azure/AWS/GCP.
- Develops, revises, implements, recommends, and interprets policies, procedures, and complex projects for sections(s) to ensure all applicable laws, governmental guidelines, and university policies are followed and that employees are treated in equitable manner.
- Manages and coordinates various complex projects and development programs for section(s) by ensuring all tasks are completed within established deadlines.
- Consults with campus departments in assessing complex technical requirements that meet needs of their operation.
- Establishes a clear vision and strategy for the team.
- Monitor performance, costs, and usage of cloud services, and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Lead a team of cloud engineers and support their professional development.
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
- Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture and processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols.
- Performs other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree With major coursework in computer science, math, information systems, or other related field or High School Diploma or GED
8 years Progressively responsible information technology experience with Bachelor's Degree or 10 years Progressively responsible and applicable information technology experience with High School Diploma and 4 years In supervisory or managerial role
One or more of the following certifications: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Certified. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
- Requires deep knowledge of Public Cloud, Active Directory, M365 and Windows Server.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of monitoring and troubleshooting. Experience consulting with application owners on how to design, migrate, and optimize application.
- Business process improvement/reengineering experience. Experience with industry methods for process improvement, organizational design, or performance optimization.
- Strong project management, solutions development. Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess business requirements.
- High level of proficiency in briefing leaders and communicating recommendations regarding status of project.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Superior customer service and relationship management skills.
- Work requires ability to formulate and sustain effective and productive working relationships between diverse members of project teams and work groups within Information Resources and other departments at the institution.
- Work requires ability to give oral and written presentations.
- Work requires exercise of considerable judgment in application of procedures or techniques to work problems.
- Work requires development of policies and procedures and recommendation of products for approval.
