Advantage Technical is seeking an HR Specialist - Employee Relations and Benefits

Job Type: Temp to possible perm

Hybrid with 2-3 days onsite

Hours: flex but typically 8-5pm

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Specialist with a focus on Employee Relations and Benefits to join our Human Resources team. This role is integral in fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will manage employee relations issues, oversee benefits administration, and provide guidance to employees and managers to promote an engaged and productive workforce.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and performance management concerns.
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, grievances, or violations of company policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that promote employee engagement and retention.
  • Maintain and update records related to employee relations activities while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, ACA, COBRA).


Benefits Administration:



  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve questions or issues.
  • Educate employees about available benefits and assist them with enrollment processes.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to evaluate and recommend enhancements to benefits offerings to align with company goals and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations, such as ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
  • Stay up to date on changes in labor laws, benefits regulations, and HR best practices to ensure organizational compliance.
