HSE Field Specialist (Seasonal) - HCC

JOB SUMMARY

The HSE Field Specialist will provide field support for pipeline construction during the 2025 Project Season in Prudhoe Bay-Kuparuk under contract to Conoco Phillips. There are eight (8) openings available for this project. This position is a field-based project position, working 10-12 hours a day on a rotational shift schedule (TBD) that will run from January 6th, 2025, to April 15th, 2025. This position reports directly to the North Slope HSE Project Manager.

This is a temporary, seasonal position eligible to enroll in Company benefits. This position is expected to start on or around January 2025, and to be complete on or around May 2025. Actual duration may depend on project operational needs and client schedule.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Ability to work productively without direct supervision on a daily basis.

* Ability to maintain a positive and professional interface with Client representatives at all times.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of Company and Client sensitive and/or proprietary information.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal employee information.

* Interface and represent AES-HCC with client company representatives in daily operations and at regular meetings as required.

* Support other AES-HCC departments with solutions as needed.

* Timely notification to the HSE Manager of all incidents, including injuries, spills, near-misses, and employee issues.

* Assist in incident investigations, developing action items, and completing incident documentation.

* Contribute to managing HSE related recordkeeping databases and files, including training records, incident management database, safety critical equipment database, and others with a high degree of accuracy.

* Mentoring of HSE issues with Line and Staff personnel.

* Communication of all pertinent safety bulletins, procedures, and policy changes.

* Conduct regular job task and site-specific observations, assessments, site audits, and evaluations for both safe and at-risk conditions, behaviors, and equipment.

* Provide positive reinforcement and solution-focused interventions, as necessary.

* Facilitate the procurement, stocking and maintaining inventory of safety gear and equipment for employees.

* Act as a resource for safety meetings, tailgate topics and meeting preparation and presentation in front of large groups of employees.

* Facilitate timely and accurate Incident Investigation & Corrective Action Development and Implementation utilizing Root Cause Analysis techniques.

* Function as a Competent Person in the areas of Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Respiratory Protection, Energy Isolation/ Lock-out and Tag-out, and Personal Protective Equipment.

* Ability to safely drive in arctic and inclement weather conditions.

* Accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork.

* Working knowledge and ability to use computers and radios as required for reports and communication.

* Support Safety and Trust as a core value and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

* Ability and willingness to abide by AES-HCC code of conduct, policies, and procedures.

* Inspect facilities and work sites to detect existing or potential hazards and work with crews to provide proactive solutions.

* Utilize standard safety and industrial hygiene atmospheric and personal monitoring instruments and their knowledge of common hazards in the oil & gas industry to evaluate and develop plans to mitigate worksite hazards and potential personnel exposures.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

* Must be authorized to work in the United States.

* A recognized degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Physical Sciences is required.

* A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.

* A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

* The ability to work 80.5 - 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation is required.

* The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.

* The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required.

* The ability to speak effectively before large groups of employees or customers is required.

* The ability to operate motor vehicles 6 - 8 hours per day is required.

* The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds is required.

* A minimum of five (5) years' experience as an HSE Field Specialist in the Oil and Gas industry and/or on the North Slope is required.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Seven (7) or more years' experience working as an HSE Field Specialist in the Oil and Gas industry and/or on the North Slope is preferred.

* A BCSP Certification of OHST, CHST, ASP, GSP or CSP is preferred.

* Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Incident Management System, Shield (AIS), and other relevant programs/databases is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.

Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.

Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:
