  • 200 day contract
  • Hours and days may vary based on district and building needs

SALARY: $75,000 - $90,000/yr

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
  • Valid MN Teaching License
  • Experience in Immersion or World Language Education

Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field
  • Three years of Immersion or World Language classroom experience

POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator of World Language and Immersion Programs is responsible for the overall planning, development, and implementation of K-12 world language and immersion programs within the school district. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Student Achievement and Strategic Alignment, the Immersion Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing articulated, vertically aligned Immersion and World Language curriculum. The Coordinator will work closely with instructional leaders, building content reps and vertical team members to provide resources to classroom teachers in planning and delivering instruction which meets state standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Plans and articulates rigorous immersion and world language curriculum which meet state standards
  • Initiates and supports world language curriculum review cycle activities, including evaluating, piloting, selection, adoption and ordering of curricular materials
  • Fosters an inclusive review & selection of materials to support immersion and world language curriculum
  • Responsible for implementation of changes as related to state standards and assessments
  • Recommends and supports assessments for immersion and world languages
  • Ensures alignment of formative and summative assessments and grade reporting across levels for immersion programming and world language curriculum
  • Assists in program recruitment, registration, orientation and promotion
  • Serves as a resource for parent organizations and activities
  • Participates in screening and hiring of immersion teachers
  • Designs and delivers relevant professional development to staff based on best practices
  • Provides consultation to K-12 teachers in research and best practices for immersion and world language education
  • Facilitates monthly meetings of building content reps and vertical teams for immersion programs and world languages
  • Targets summer work efforts to enhance existing curriculum and professional development
  • Assists school sites with best practice implementation by providing professional development, coaching and support
  • Serves as a collaborative member of the Teaching and Learning Team
  • Supports professional development efforts across all curricular areas as needed
  • Works in partnership with local organizations and institutions such as St. Cloud State University, College of St. Benedict and Partner for Student Success
  • Maintains current and accurate information on publications, district web page and resources for teachers (such as Live Binders)
  • Assists in preparing and managing the Teaching and Learning budget for Immersion and World Language materials and activities
  • Ensures compliance with state mandates, state guidelines, and auditable records
  • Performs related work or other duties as assigned
