Traffic Control & Engineering is actively seeking 17 highly skilled and qualified candidates to join our team as Traffic Device Maintainers (TDMs). The responsibilities for TDMs include preparing, installing, maintaining, and repairing various traffic control devices such as signs, stanchions, supports, pavement markers, bus stop informational signs, citywide bus stop regulation signs, and traffic counters. Additional duties involve operating, maintaining, and making minor adjustments to a broad range of motor vehicles and equipment, including marking machines, air compressors, pavement breakers, snowplows, and other essential field and shop tools. TDM's will be required to perform manual labor in loading and unloading trucks, the placement of traffic devices, work at varying heights, climb and work from ladders, and work in tower and bucket trucks. Assignments may include removing traffic obstructions and operating motor vehicles. TDMs may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts in various weather conditions, including inclement weather. Other operational duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support the city's infrastructure and traffic management initiatives. These positions require compliance with all agency safety rules and regulations to ensure a secure work environment, including the proper use and wearing of safety equipment and gear on work sites. Effective communication and collaborative skills are essential, along with a commitment to continuous professional development. Two years of full-time satisfactory experience using hand and/or power tools to assemble, repair, maintain and/or install mechanical and/or electrical devices; or Preferred Skills
Preferred Skills 1.Preference will be given to candidate holding an unrestricted Class B or Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). 2.Candidate should demonstrate advanced proficiency with mechanical and electrical tools, power devices, and related equipment, as well as possess basic computer skills. 3.Must be capable of working effectively in various weather conditions, including inclement weather. 55a Program
