Job Description

Brightspeed is searching for a Sr Engineer- Network Build E&C to join our team!As a Sr. Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing the network design of complex circuits and pathing across multiple and diverse equipment types, evaluating traffic and designing groom recommendations in accordance with the guiding Network Optimization cost savings strategies. The analysis includes but is not limited to the review of End User Customer impacts, (if present), transport requirements, future network equipment augmentations with a focused eye on Architectural deployment timelines and adjusting E&C priorities accordingly to achieve Quarterly and YE NetEx Targets.

As a Sr Engineer Network Build Team- E&C, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluation of embedded off-net to on-net circuit designs and cost, proposing a solution strategy to disconnect and/or groom as appropriate
  • Interpreting BSPD's long-range architectural Next Gen deployments and BSPD's future network solutions to assess network impact and prioritize engineering work
  • Ability to understand and learn new topology configurations and network element dependencies by partnering with Vendors, BSPD Architects and Planning teams
  • Heavy interaction and partnership with Carrier Relations (CR), Planning, Finance and the Network Build 3rd party team members
  • Acting as a SME for circuit design and/or equipment
  • Participation in conversion activities to BSPD End State systems while acting as a resource for rollout recommendations, UAT/ORT support, real-time problem resolution in test and production environments
  • Conducting general overview explanation and training sessions to regional teams as new architectural solutions are introduced to help support accurate build submissions
  • Partnering with the Network Build Team Lead and assisting their directs with any system anomalies or to provide clarity on new build designs
  • Receiving special assignments for analysis, review and action from the Project Managers and/or 3rd Party Manager in support of BSPD's future growth and network acceleration
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 8 years related experience in telecommunications, engineering, network planning,or equivalent outside plant engineer experience
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in planning and/or engineering
  • Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with Planning, Operations, and internal BSPD Teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Working knowledge of Network Architecture platforms
  • Prior experience with LUMEN TSA Engineering and Planning systems, such as:
    • NDS
    • TIRKS
    • OmniVue
    • Device and Circuit modeling principles
    • LOSDB
    • CLONES/CATT
  • Any previous examples of similar roles/support documents
