Post-Doctoral Position in Spatial and Visual Proteomics

The highly interdisciplinary and collaborative proteomics group at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is looking for strongly motivated post-doctoral associates with relevant experience to help lead our ongoing efforts to optimize and apply microscopy-based imaging coupled to state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based (MS) proteomics technologies to address key question in biology and clinical medicine.

Successful candidates will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, biologists, computational and proteomics scientists at the Broad and with an international group of renowned partner institutions. Our focus is to recruit scientists with both interest and skills in the analysis of very low input material at both proteome and phosphoproteome levels and to apply those methods to deeply characterize and understand the spatial diversity of proteomes and their post-translational modification in tumor tissue slices and microarrays in the context of ongoing, large-scale tumor analysis projects funded by the National Cancer Institute and other funding agencies.

Candidates must have:

• MD and/or Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field
• State-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics of low input samples
• Experience with formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue processing and/or laser capture microdissection
• Excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality research publications in peer reviewed journals.
• A track record of conducting independent and creative research.

• Flow cytometry
• Experience with the CellenOne picoliter sample processing and dispensing robot
• Operating and trouble-shooting experience with Bruker SCP and/or Ultra MS systems
• Cellular and tissue imaging including hands-on microscopy, automation, and imaging data analysis
• Single-cell genomic or proteomic technologies
• Computational pathology skills and software knowledge
• Understanding of cell signaling pathways/networks
