About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) that will play an instrumental role providing accounting, reporting, analytic, and planning support primarily for the Corporate Medical Sciences function including Pre-Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Medical Safety. The SFA will be a key contributor to understanding and communicating financial performance within Corporate Functions.

The SFA reports to the Senior Finance Manager, Global R&D and Corporate Functions and partners with senior management providing support and consultation on their functional areas of the business. The position also has a high degree of collaboration with corporate, divisional, regional, and operations finance across the global organization.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Serve as the primary business partner in forecasting, reporting, and consulting for Corporate Medical Sciences Leadership
  • Perform all aspects of the monthly financial close process including necessary journal entries, integration and other non-GAAP accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance/trend analysis
  • Collaborate on monthly reporting package shared with senior management highlighting key drivers of financial performance, including opportunities and risks
  • Consolidate global financial results and provide analysis to senior management and functional business partners
  • Lead the global strategic planning, annual operating planning, and forecasting processes for each function, ensuring adherence to financial targets
  • Lead Value Improvement Program for the function by providing financial expertise to estimate and validate savings assumptions
  • Partner with human resources to track headcount and provide recommendations on hiring capacity in support of the internal headcount prioritization process
  • Represent finance on key cross-functional initiatives and projects
  • Take initiative on continuous improvement opportunities within our financial processes
  • Support ad-hoc requests and projects when necessary


The successful candidate will exhibit the following:

Required qualifications:



  • 4+ years of financial analysis, planning, and business support experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related discipline
  • Experience with large scale financial systems (e.g. Hyperion and/or SAP) and minimum intermediate skills with Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred qualifications:



  • Midto large company experience
  • Must be able to work well in a complex, highly matrixed global organization and be able to simplify that matrix for reporting and analytical purposes
  • PPMS or other project portfolio management application experience

Maximum Salary: $138,300

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
