Position Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for new tool de-bugging development and, tool validation. This is a hands-on position where the candidate will spend 80% of their time on the floor or at the tool bench. The candidate will report to the Molding Tooling & Process Engineering Manager.

What You Will Be Doing:

* De-bugging injection molding tools.

* Sampling and establishing processes for new and transfer tooling projects.

* Maintaining established processes using scientific molding principles.

* Validating injection molding tools using established IQ OQ PQ processes.

* Training of set-up and process technicians.

* Provide process-engineering support to production, focusing on labor and scrap reduction.

What We Are Looking For:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Two-year training certificate or degree in plastics, mechanical, or electrical industries.

* A minimum of 3+ years of related work experience preferably in the medical device field.

* Attended advanced training courses in plastic injection molding processing.

* General understanding of automation systems.

* Basic blueprint reading skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

* Must be able to use Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision while supporting the Design Engineering and Manufacturing business units.

* Understanding of ISO, FDA, and cGMP requirements regarding design, process, and document control.

* Experience and understanding of the design for plastics injection-mold fabrication processes.

* Experience and understanding of the development and design of plastic parts, insert molded parts, and assemblies.

* The ability to conduct mold-design reviews.

* Must be able to work a standard 40-hour work with occasional overtime when required.

* Must have acute vision with or without corrective lenses and the ability to distinguish color differences.

* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. un-assisted
