This position is designated as work-from-home.

Description:

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who will work to develop creative, clean, accessible user interfaces / prototypes. You will work in a Federal Government environment and interface directly with our engineers and project stakeholders. This role will include proposing and implementing modern interfaces using the latest design principles, accessibility standards, and technologies. You will support design efforts to ensure defined performance, accessibility, usability, and reliability requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of multiple Agile development teams, with a passion for innovation and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Responsible for designing and developing applications for usability, performance, and high availability.
  • Apply interactive and human-centered design principles to provide for a cohesive user experience.
  • Build website designs and mobile designs with development features.
  • Lead & implement UI/UX design modifications based on testing, customer feedback, and team goals in an agile environment.
  • Participate in product decisions from definition to release.
  • Improve designs based on testing, interviews, user research, surveys, etc.
  • Work with product owners, scrum team, and stakeholders to understand requirements for new and existing features.
  • Collaborate with developers during sprints to answer questions and validate features as they are being developed.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • Figma experience
  • Word Press
  • Work experience with a focus on user interface (UI) development and front-end enablement
  • Basic scripting language and frameworks (JavaScript, Angular, React, Node.js, etc.).
  • Proficient at writing standards compliant, accessible, and semantic HTML.
  • Proficient at writing global, reusable CSS; familiar with various methodologies for architecting CSS
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment and meet required schedules and timelines.
  • Storybook tool preferred

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance per Federal requirement. Candidates will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information

Preferred Education & Experience: Preferred Bachelor's degree

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $85,000 - $120,000.
